CHEMKLEEN CK500

To achieve optimal efficiency in the phosphating process, initial degreasing is a critical step. The surface must be completely cleaned before entering the chromate bath to ensure strong adhesion and superior quality of the chromate coating. Due to the high reactivity of aluminum with strong acidic or alkaline chemicals, ATP Pacific has researched and developed Chemkleen CK 500, a degreasing chemical composed of acids, surfactants, and aluminum corrosion inhibitors. It is specifically designed for aluminum chromate processes and powder coating pretreatment.

Working Mechanism

Chemkleen CK 500 dissolves metal oxides, grease, and inorganic residues, breaking their bonds with the substrate surface. Surfactants reduce the surface tension of water, allowing the solution to effectively wet the aluminum surface and penetrate between oil layers and the metal. Additionally, the product contains aluminum corrosion inhibitors, ensuring effective cleaning without causing corrosion, pitting, or blackening of aluminum.

Operating Instructions

Tank Materials:

• Composite (FRP) tanks
• PVC, PP plastic tanks
• Stainless steel 304, 316

Operating Conditions:

• Temperature: Ambient
• Dosage (g/L): 50 (30 – 80)
• Processing time (minutes): 5 (3 – 30)
• Cleaning method: Immersion, wiping
• Replace bath periodically depending on production volume and bath condition

Monitoring and Replenishment

Appearance: Homogeneous, clear to light yellow, no oil film

Acid Point (Kt) Test:

• Prepare 5% solution (v/v): Take 50 ml sample into a 1-liter volumetric flask, dilute to mark with distilled water
• Take 10 ml of the 5% solution into a 250 ml conical flask, add 100 ml distilled water
• Add 3–5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator
• Titrate with 0.1N NaOH until the solution turns from colorless to pink
• The volume (ml) of NaOH used equals the acid point (Kt)

Replenishment:

• Add chemical MC–04
• Formula:
  M (Chemkleen CK 500) = 2.5 × (K₀ – Kt) × Vlv

Where:

• K₀: Required acid point (e.g., K₀ = 30)
• Vlv: Working volume (m³)
